I first found this bike in July of 92, and bought it with cash from the sale of my Ninja 600 to a friend.
The bike has gone through many changes, and this is the state it is in now, rotting in my back yard.
Bitter? Damn right!
Time is always the issue, that and money. So with any luck I will start it again.
It has the usual changes, the 17 inch wheels from a 91 as well as the front end. A LSL tube bar conversion. I am getting older and the clip on bars were killing me, I could ride for about a half mile before my hands were numb.
The LSL kit was supposed to come with everything, but it did not, no hoses, no throttle cable and no instructions. (unless you speak nazi) Dont get me wrong the top clamp is a work of art, but the bar retention design is crap! The included bar is painted black and has a nice bend though, over all the parts sort of make up for the raping, almost.
I went to my local Vance and Hines shop and they hooked me up with some goodridge lines and a contact with Motion Pro who made my throttle cable. (very top notch service, good quality)
Back in 92 the plastics came off and the bike was sporting a pair of 5 1/2 inch Bates headlights.
Then Triumph came along all these years later and put em on their Speed Triple, Bastards!
Started to get the "oh you want it to look like a Triumph." and decided to pull them off the bike.
