Love Song.

"We knew it was going to bring us here" I said, brushing a long strand of her hair from her face.
"It's just that we never gave it any thought." And I kissed her.

I've been here, here in this snow drift for six months.
the trip was supposed to be a research expedition, A test of the instruments and a examination of our skills as scientists.
As humans...

"You know I love you, Always have..." She looked into me with those eyes.
Soft brown eyes that seemed to hold the promise of life, the fire of passion.
A small shudder rolled under her skin as she looked deep into my eyes.
"I don't know what to do...So long, Wanted to say something. Anything..."

In the distant future I can see a red light flickering.
A warning?
something, I should know this.
What's the answer?

"I want you to live, my love." she said. And she slowly pulled away from me.
"Let me go, Live for me and I will see you again."
she slid away from me, into the mists. Suddenly I am feeling alone, scared.
"NO!" I shout after her form.
"Please, don't go!" I beg.
she turns, her hair slowly surrounding her. "Get up my love, live...For me."

The red light is screaming at me; "ALERT ALERT ALERT".
Snow drift.
Pressure suit keeping me alive, sedated until rescue can arrive.
now the suit is telling me something.
I can hear her softly whispering in my ear "get up my love, get up now!"

I have been watching the clock for the last hour, willing my arm to move.
I think it has been enjoying its vacation.
It doesn't want to move.
I can see the ice on the face shield, a thin layer between me and a horrible poisonous freezing death.
The suit is out of sedatives, The damn thing is running an emergency protocol, powering me up again, I guess rescue is not an option.

"Amy..." I call into the mists.
I can just about see her through the swirling clouds of ammonia.
"Amy, I need you. I can't get up."
She's holding my head in her soft hands, running the tip of her nose across my cheek. "You have to do this alone Vincent, You have to want me enough to live." she kisses me with those soft lips again. I can taste roses.

Two days now. I am standing.
the suit is running a diagnostic.
I know I can live for another six months, but I no longer have any of the drugs that kept me immobile for so long. Sane in this very lonely place.
The hulk is just over the hill, some small hill, 10,000 feet up into the atmosphere. The ship or whats left of it is just waiting for me.
"Amy, I guess this is it." I say as I take a first shaky step up the mountain.
She takes my gloved hand in hers and smiles that all comforting smile.
"Yes my love." she says and smiles.

Hoping I can get my stuff together before the Cycle World show hits in December.
Have a plan for the Triumph!
Dumping the stock bars (and the Hyde M bars) for either a clubman bar, or some nice "Z" bars. it all depends on if I am going to cafe or bobber the bike.
buying some pipes, Either low 60's megas, or some high reverse cone megas. Again, 60"s megas for a cafe, and the high pipes for a bobber.
Either way the pipes are getting the glass fiber wrap!
I ordered some vintage grips that are a translucent red with metal flake in the rubber, Too damn cool! They should be here soon.
And the cherry on this cake; a 4 inch headlight, machined from billet aluminum.
So that's hats up with me and my Triumph.

Worked on a 53 (54,55, Er I don't know the owner said) today.
Fucking hate pan heads!
the inside was a mess, and had been put together with a mismatch of standard AND METRIC fasteners. Jesus Christ! What a fucking mess...
Chances are if you find a pan for sale it is in much the same condition if the price is low.
Just run away!

Ah...candy for your inner pimp!

SOCOM BABY!

This is the Springfield Armory S.O.C.O.M. carbine ( Short Rifle)
A lot of WW2 gun with a helping of new century development and add on's.
It uses a 30-06 or .308 bullet depending on the gun you buy. The stock has a lot of options. I like the wood stock myself, but thats just me.

Bioshock p.c.

Straight from the world of bioshock comes the 50's high tech, water cooled desk top p.c. bet those vacuum tubes stay nice and cool!

Fiction...

Joe stood at the bed room door looking at Jane sleep.
From here she looked peaceful and Joe could almost forget about the day he had just lived through, Almost.

The day started like so many others, Joe had an agenda of things to get done, some for the house, some for him.
Jane was already awake when he woke and stumbled into the bathroom.
As he stepped out of the shower he could hear Jane ending a phone call.
"Whats the plan for today?" Jane asked.
This was something Joe had always hated; small talk.
Jane knew what the plan was, She ALWAYS knew what the plan was or is. Deep down Joe felt like she just asked to keep him talking, almost as if she was not comfortable without the constant talking.
"I have to fix the garage door, and then I was going to drive over to Boltown to pick up a part for the race car." Joe said between mouthfuls of scrambled egg.
"Why, Do you have any thing you need to do?"
Jane positioned herself right next to Him as she spoke.
"I was thinking we could do something today."
"Well, We could after I get back with the parts for the car.."
"It's always that car"She said as she brought her hands to her hips.
"I've been working to get it going for the last six months, And I still have not made it to get the parts, Today was the day, You know that."
"But we never do anything together!"
"What was all of last weekend?"
"You know what I mean! If you cant even spend a little time with your own wife..."
Joe ate in silence as Jane slammed dishes around in the sink. Making a big dramatic scene.
"Look, I will go get the part on my bike, I will be back in no time."
Jane just glared and went back to banging dishes around.

Joe sat on the black Honda as the engine warmed up.
Today, was not good. This was something he usually enjoyed; the sound and smell of the machine waking up. But not today, He just felt numb and a little resentful.
Joe took hold of the clubman bars and pulled out into the street.
Nothing to do but go get the part and hope the ride would blow the mood
The trip to Bolton was 125 miles of highway with lots of straits with the occasional curve. It was at mile 54 that Joe had to pull off the highway and stop for gas and a bottle of water.
Joe gassed the bike up and bought a bottle inside the station. Sitting on the bike he drank and called the parts shop.
"You have reached Part's Inc. We are closed today, Off racing at the Nationals in Iowa, We will be back next week." The voice on the machine said.
Fuck! Nothing was going right!
it was this moment that the battery in the phone died.
O.k. So now what?
Joe sat and drank slowly.
I could go home. He thought to himself.
Take the long way back, get home before I would have if I had gone to the parts shop anyway!
And with that casual decision Joe Changed his life forever.

It was just past Five when Joe turned up his street. He was ahead of schedule and was thinking about taking Jane to the movies as he rolled up the street.
The street was tree lined and had that feel of a small town, clean but old.
The gutter was full of leaves and as Joe got closer to home a question popped into his mind; Who do we know owns a B.M.W.?
as far a Joe could remember, no one he knew owned a B.M.W. so the what was one doing parked in his driveway?
He parked the bike on the street in front of his house and sat for a moment as he pulled off his helmet and set it on the mirror.
Thats a nice car. he thought to himself. and pulled his jacket off and hung it off the right grip.
The house was quiet and Joe walked through it to the kitchen. No sign of Jane.
He pulled a bottle of water out of the fridge and began to drink then noticed something.
There in the back yard.
It's Jane, but what the well is she doing?
Joe's mind was working against him, doing all it could to make sure that Joe could not see Jane, naked in the back yard, bent over the picnic table, with...What is that, HOLY SHIT!
JANE IN THE BACK YARD WITH ANOTHER MAN!!!
Joe stood for a moment, Trapped in indecision, Move, yell, puke? What to do?
Go upstairs and get the gun from the closet and shoot that mother fucker!
No No NO! Not going to go to prison for her, pull it together.
Joe closed the water bottle and walked out the front door.
Push the bike up the block, Don't want them to know I know...
Oh god, Think I am going to be sick...

Joe sat on the curb and watched his house from a block away.
Sat and watched.
Sat and drank water, a little at a time.
Two hours later the man walked from Joe's front door, with Jane by his side. The two stood by the B.M.W. for a while, then exchanged a deep kiss and parted.
Hmmm, Jane doesn't seem to care if the neighbors see what she's up to.
Joe waited for another hour before he was feeling strong enough to go into his house and not go insane.

Joe parked his Honda in the garage and left the helmet and jacket on the garage floor.
He walked into the house and stepped into the bathroom.
A long shower helped get the road off him, but his mind was a muddle of questions and hurt anger.
Joe dried off and thought for a while before walking naked to the bedroom.

Jane was there, in the blankets. She looked asleep, and from where Joe stood she looked peaceful.
He stood and watched her for a while.
Jane stirred.
"You just get in?" she asked.
Try to keep a calm voice Joe, He thought.
"Yep."
"Come to bed baby". She said
"Let me make you feel good!" She purred.
Joe climbed into bed and tried not to jump when Jane kissed him.
"You are tense baby." She said "Let me take care of that."
And she started to kiss her way down his belly.
All of a sudden Joe was feeling an evil rage.
What the hell was she doing? Trying to throw him off her track?
Got to keep cool, do not let on.

To be continued.

Doug's rear set.

The story on this is long, and the repair was HELL!
The back plate was bent and twisted.
I got this work after it had been heated and pounded on to no avail.
I then took my turn with the heating and hammering, pressing and torching, but the damn thing would just spring back into its twisted shape.
out of anger I stuck it into a vice on the back of a friends work truck and attacked the plate with a foot long crescent wrench and extender.
With the idea that I was going to fix it, or break it trying, I got it back into shape. After a day and a half of burned hands, banged knuckles and plenty of swearing.

Hasta ZX!

One view of Steven's ZX.
He crashed it, and then we put it back together.
I did the tanks paint and some small fab work.(tail light not in this pic) More to fillow as I find the other pictures.

My GSX-R again, this time with a square headlight from a 85 onda Shadow.

I like the lights shell and shape, but it feels a bit small to me.

I may just put the twin Bates back on it...

Chance and opportunity.

Seems to me that the good things in life are had either by chance and opportunity or hard work or corruption.

Give me the chance and opportunity to play rough and I am going to take it.
nothing is as good as a pure intent, have an experience and run with it to the fullest extent, savor every nuance.

I am going to work long and hard to get what I want, even if the pace is slow and I seem to be standing still, slow movement is better than none.

If I have to cheat and steal to meet my goals, Ha! so be it!

The 100th post.

Fritzie get's the honor of holdong post #100!
I did not really have anything to say, but It seems like the little man should have this spot.

An Alex Bateman moment.

You ever have one of those days when everyone is coming at you with bullshit demands for your attention, time and opinion?
It's not like you are needed, but these people have some respect for your opinion, or they just trust you to tell them the truth.
But sometimes you just do not feel the love, No sometimes you feel like these people are just pathetic losers who can not form a single thought without your help!
And of course this is all wrong, but you are feeling evil and put upon, and want to lash out.
And after a while it is the most unsuspecting person who wants nothing but the best for you who steps into your tangles web of selfish evil.
I guess we always put the framing nail into the head of the ones we love...

Check out http://www.antiquemotorcycle.org/ for more on the harley from the pic's from the N.H.R.A. museum.

Watching cnn this morning, Yech!

I am not sure if I want to blame the hippes for making us a bunch of pussies, One thing is sure; The men from my grandfathers generation were the last of the real men here in America.
Something changed.
it used to be that if you got into a fight and it got bad enough, you went out to the school yard, parking lot at work/bar/where ever, and had it out with fists.
Someone won, someone lost, and when it was over it was over.
You got your nose punched and your pride hurt, but you were alive and the conflict was for the most part over.
When Pearl Harbor got bombed, we had a massive commitment to fight and get some payback, and as a nation we went and kicked some ass.
Not to say that war is fun, but it is the equivalent of the schoolyard fight between nations and ideology.
But fast forward to today, a school yard fist fight can end a couple of days after the fact when some shithead brings a gun and starts shooting.
Puss could not take the beating, or the hurt ego, so it's time to kill.
And for some reason that seems like a good choice!
9/11/01 America lost over 3000 people, Men, Women, and Babies, because some shithead arabs were going to strike a blow against the great Satan.
What did we get soon after?
The same old dried up 1960's rhetoric "Give peace a chance, No war" cry baby shit!!!
All of it in the face of the islamist's saying "Death to America" and when they say that they do not mean some abstract concept of America, they mean Men, Women, and Babies.
My Grand fathers generation had the balls to build and drop the bomb.
We know that is the one thing the arabs share with them.
Are we going to buckle down and do what has to be done; commit to win at all costs.
Are we going to wait for the clinton's and obama's to talk and talk until it is too late?

Time for corn.

Thank You.

A recent attempt at a promotion has been a real eye opener.
the process involves multiple choice questions followed by an essay to support your answers on the multiple choice section.

It goes something like this.

1. As a Transportation security officer I have trained others,
a. never.
b. With constant supervision
c. With minimal supervision.
d.With no supervision.

So I thought about the answer and this was my answer and my essay.

1. As a Transportation security officer I have trained others,
"D" With no supervision.

In a brief essay support your answer.

I have worked as an "Acting Lead" officer for over one year, as part of my duties , the training of new hires was a major part of my day to day routine. I also served as a Training Mentor for the last Two years of my service performing the same duties.

This was to be my undoing, As it turns out my answer was not detailed or flowery enough, It did not read like a high school English paper, full of big words and lots of text, but very little in the form of an actual answer.
Time went on and many around me have gotten called, I got my rejection e-mail yesterday, its nice and to the point.

Thank you for your interest in the position.
Good luck with your career with the t.s.a.!

P.S. The Pulse Rifle has to be checked in, it is not allowed as a carry on...

N.H.R.A. museum.

Fritzie and a blower.
Went to the L.A. County Fair today, and paid a visit to the car museum.
If you go it is worth a visit.

Bikes

This is the "Giant Killer", It's one heck of a cool bike. It is not some modern flash bike with a lot of looks and no go. This is a race bike from the 1950's! I love the look and feel this bike has.
Hmmm, gsx-r in a rigid frame...

Here is a double engine Honda CB750 drag racer built and raced by Vance and Hines.

Race car.

Old flat head 8 engine racer.

ER...

So imaging my shock when I got home tonight and found my wife in bed with my best friend!

I am not talking sleeping, snore snore. I am talking about "Oh god baby fuck me!!!" kinda stuff.

I was just so damn stunned...

What to do?

I thought about shooting them both, but then that would leave my boy without his mother.

I thought about taking an axe to My best friend, but again, My little boy suffers.

So I told that cheating slut of a wife to get the fuck out.

Then I turned to my best friend and yelled as loud as I could;

BAD DOG!.................BAD DOG!!!

Fucking Saturday.

So I have been farting around a lot today (friday) mainly because I have no desire to spend what money I have on crap!

"You never want to do anything!" She says.

And for the most part this is true, because going "Somewhere" and doing "Something" tends to cost me money that I would rather not spend.

I spent most of my Friday (Wednesday for everyone else) bored out of my fucking mind listening to lectures about how to treat MIDGETS, CRIPPLES and RETARDS with respect and caring.

It also goes that the presentation was in it self degrading and made me sleepy and evil all in one shot.

I worked on fixing a twisted up footpeg hanger for one of the guys Thursday and in the process touched the tip of a blow torch to the bottom of my middle finger, FUCKIN OUCH!!!

Hand swelled up like an over cooked hot dog, and I was holding a frozen bottle of water for the next two hours, and it still hurt!

got a real cool blister now, and I can feel the skin turning into leather.

Some reason the joint hurts too...

The nurse next door says the ice helped a lot, but if the skin breaks I got to go get it checked out. Most of the swelling is gone now so I think I am going to be good.

So I am feeling kinda sick and mean, Might just call off tomorrow, and do nothing. Or better yet, go to work and do nothing!!!

Fucking P.W.D. Asshole!

You the cat woman?

Ah the sweet scent of the future is filling me with hope and dread.
Sometime before I grow old and die I know that I am going to live near some old biddy who's got about thirty of these things rolling around her house.
Leaving little piles of smelly nuts and bolts in my yard for me to step in.
...God I hate cats!

master builder eh?

a pic of Billy Lane of Choppers Inc. with one of his bike's going up in flames due to a faulty weld on a gas tank.
What if you paid $60,000- for a bike and it did this?

9/11 again...

So 9/11 is rolling around and we find Bin Ladin releasing a new tape, and saying all the things that the Clinton's and Obama's want you to hear; Go soft on terror and pull out of Iraq, let the people of the middle east twist in the wind while extreme islam takes over and enslaves the region. Forget that we lost over 3000 CIVILIANS in a few short hours, no quarter was given to children, none to women, anyone was a target. Terror must be met with strength and the resolve to hit back, and hit back hard!
Keep in mind this election year; It was not Bush's fault, he was just the guy at the wheel when we got hit, if it was Clinton or F.D.R. we would have done all the same things! there is no place for the same old dried up 1960's hippie/commie rhetoric! This is not Vietnam and Bin Ladin is not Uncle Ho! Get strong and fight back, or get used to seeing this asshole, because he's going to be the hero of the islamic revolution that nukes us into submission if we don't! FUCK YOU BIN LADIN!

Aliens.

So imagine my surprise when this thing touches down in my back yard this morning.
it goes without saying that any race who have mastered space travel and actually bother to visit this rock are after resources.
Things like ore, plants, food (you know, cows, dogs, homeless people...)
So I was quite worried when one of the little buggers came out and made himself at home in my kitchen.
"Have you thought about planet insurance?" it asked.
"You have such a nice planet here, it would be a shame if it had an accident..."
I sat for a moment before I spoke.
"Are you extorting me?"
"No no no, you got me all wrong, I am offering my services..."
I slowly unscrewed the top from the salt shaker as it spoke.
"No, I am offering you protection from some of the more, Unsavory elements out there..." It said as it motioned its fingers in a small circle.
"Really? That sounds great!" I lied and it seemed to perk up as I spoke.
"I have often wondered what would happen if I were to do this." I said.
"Do what?" it asked as I tossed the salt in its face.
Its skin exploded in flames! The alien stood and screamed before it fell motionless to the floor.
Who knew, Slugs AND aliens...

cell/cam pic's.

Introspection...

I need to get away and decompress for a couple of days, Let my demons have a week off!
I spent an hour two weeks back, floating around naked in my pool with only a beer for company at 11:30 p.m., It was great.
I watched as a police heli circled and shone its spotlight a block over. Still it was a worthwhile experience.
Thinking of taking my bike out for a road trip, go somewhere/nowhere for a couple of days, then head home.
Sort of the pool, but with some pictures to post when I get back!
